The History of Toothbrushes

Everyone loves the feeling of freshly brushed teeth. But what if you found out you were brushing your teeth with…animal hair? The modern toothbrush is less than 80 years old, but the concept of brushing your teeth dates all the way back to the Egyptians and Babylonians!

The toothbrush you know and love started to take shape in the 1400’s when the Chinese developed a brush device with a bone handle and boar-hair bristles.
