The History of the Internet

The concept of the internet was first conceived of in the 1950s, but it wasn’t until the 1980s that the Computer Science Network made it accessible to the masses. As computers became smaller and easier to use in the late 80s and early 90s, commercial use of the internet took off. The first web browser was created by Tim Berners-Lee and was called the WorldWideWeb, but it required you to know the exact web address you wanted to visit. It wasn’t until search engines like Google and Yahoo were developed that searching for information on the internet became fast and convenient.
