The History of Lipstick

It’s hard to believe that lipstick could be anything but innocent; however, in the 16th century, royals such as Queen Elizabeth I led the conception of lipstick by creating it with fatal ingredients like white lead.  Queen Elizabeth I would coat her lips in a half inch of lip paint, as she believed that lipstick had healing powers and would ward off fatality. What she didn’t realize, however, was that the harmful ingredients in the lipstick were slowly poisoning her.
