Granny’s Apple Fries are one of the most popular treats at Legoland. According to Derek Orris, a chef at Legoland Florida, the unique dessert fries were created at Legoland California and debuted there when the park opened in 1999. When Legoland Florida opened in 2011, the beloved apple fries were offered there, too. Made by battering Granny Smith apple slices in cornstarch, frying them, then tossing them with cinnamon and sugar, Granny’s Apple Fries are served with whipped cream, caramel dipping sauce, and/or vanilla soft-serve ice cream. While they may have been created in the previous century, Granny’s Apple Fries remain a favorite of kids and adults alike at Legoland locations across the United States. The parks also recently released the recipe, so many families now make them at home, too.
