The History of Good Humor Toasted Almond Bars

After Good Humor got its start in 1920, the company quickly made a name for itself and began rolling out ice cream treats, which became especially popular during the Great Depression. By 1961, there were over 85 frozen treats available, including Good Humor Toasted Almond Bars. Many of these early products remained popular for decades, while others fell out of favor. In 1992, the company relaunched several of its classic offerings, including Toasted Almond Bars. They became a staple not only in the frozen treats aisle of grocery stores, but also on the menus of ice cream trucks that would regularly drive through neighborhoods and parks. While less popular than some of the brand’s top offerings, Toasted Almond Bars remained a classic and beloved treat for many years and earned legions of devoted fans. Then in 2022, Good Humor announced that Toasted Almond Bars would be discontinued. Despite pleas from consumers to bring back the beloved frozen treats, Good Humor Toasted Almond Bars remain unavailable today, although many of the brand’s other offerings are still going strong.
